Meet Serina

As a primary care provider, Serina is dedicated to providing excellence in healthcare and supporting her patients on their path to radiant health and well-being.  She is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, and the owner of Blossom Acupuncture which she founded in 2009.  Serina is also nationally certified in Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Western Biomedicine by the NCCAOM.  She holds a 4-year Master's of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Five Branches University, where she completed over 3,500 hours of comprehensive classroom and clinical training in both Eastern and Western Medicine.  As part of her training, Serina studied abroad in China at the Zhejiang University, doing clinical rounds in TCM hospitals where Western  and Eastern medicine are integrated. 

In addition to TCM, Serina received certification in Five Element Acupuncture, a system of acupuncture that addresses and corrects imbalances on the mental, emotional, and spiritual levels, which are often at the root of physical symptoms.  Serina has been studying Japanese Acupuncture with world renowned acupuncturist and author, Kiiko Matsumoto, for over 15 years. This style is known for being both gentle and highly effective. She has been practicing cosmetic acupuncture since 2010. Serina's areas of specialty and continuing study include pain management and orthopedics, women's health, fertility, pregnancy, cosmetic acupuncture and facial therapy.  

She is currently a member of the Birth Network of Santa Cruz County and has been part of NorCal Fertility, a collaborative group of acupuncturists specializing in Reproductive Medicine. 

Serina's background in the healing arts began when she completed her 1st and 2nd degree Reiki practitioner training in 1995.  She became a Certified Massage Practitioner in 2002, practicing shiatsu, acupressure, and massage. She has a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from UCSC.  Serina enjoys creating beauty, expressing creativity through dance and art, spending time in nature, and serving her community.  She had two children, born in 2012 and 2016 and loves spending her free time with her family.
