Happy Fall to my patients, friends, and community! After seeing several of my patients respond particularly well to their treatments recently, I am inspired all over again by the power of acupuncture and herbs to heal. (You can see their testimonials here.) I love helping my patients feel healthy, relaxed, and rejuvenated.
It's the end of the year, and I have a few seasonal tips (below). Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners typically recommend scheduling a check-up appointment once each season to make sure your body is balanced and fortified for the season to come. Call me to schedule a visit and get your body ready for the Holiday Season. I look forward to seeing you!
Seasonal Wellness Tips
As we deepen into fall weather, I'm treating more patients with colds and upper respiratory illnesses. I'm here when you're not feeling well, and also to help you stay well. Acupuncture and herbal medicine can help fortify you, and also works great preventatively.

- If you're feeling healthy, but are being exposed to a lot of viruses and germs around your workplace, school, or kids, remember the simple importance of regular hand washing.
- Remember to get enough sleep and regular exercise, even a daily brisk 20-30 minute walk.
- Continue with your daily multi-vitamin, add Vitamin-C, and start taking immune strengthening herbs.
- Eat lots of warm, nourishing foods that are in season, such as root vegetables, squash, pumpkins and whole grains. Add pungent herbs and vegetables such as ginger, garlic, onions. Making a big pot of soup can last a few days, is healthful, and saves time.
- If you are feeling chilled or think you may be fighting a cold, try fresh ginger root tea. Just slice and boil a piece of ginger root for 10 minutes and drink. This will help promote a sweat, which is how we approach treating early stage colds. Stay bundled up and warm. We also recommend staying out of the wind and keeping the back of your neck covered and warm.
- Get treated early if you feel something coming on. In addition to acupuncture, herbs formulated specifically for your symptoms help your body fight off illness while its still manageable.
