As a primary care provider, Serina is dedicated to providing excellence in healthcare and supporting her patients on their path to radiant health and well-being. She is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, and the owner of Blossom Acupuncture. Serina is also nationally certified in Acupuncture, Herbal medicine, and Western Biomedicine by the NCCAOM. She holds a 4-year Master's of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Five Branches University, where she completed over 3,500 hours of comprehensive classroom and clinical training in both Eastern and Western Medicine. As part of her training, Serina studied abroad in China at the Zhejiang University, doing clinical rounds in TCM hospitals.
In addition to TCM, Serina received certification in Five Element Acupuncture, a system of acupuncture that addresses and corrects imbalances on the mental, emotional, and spiritual levels, which are often at the root of physical symptoms. Serina has also studied Japanese Acupuncture and Medical Qigong. She has studied with local experts in pediatrics and pregnancy, and continues an advanced acupuncture internship with Holly Guzman, L.Ac., OMD, whose specialties include internal medicine, immunology, and women's health. Serina's areas of specialty and continuing study include pain management, orthopedics, women's health, fertility, pregnancy, pediatric wellness, and Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture.
Serina is a Certified Massage Practitioner and has been practicing shiatsu, acupressure, and massage since 2002. She completed her 2nd degree Reiki practitioner training in 1995 and has a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from UCSC. Serina enjoys creating beauty, expressing creativity through dance and art, and serving her community.
